Role Profile:

The Engineering Development Program (EDP) is a two-year development program designed to fast track entry level engineers in preparation for an exciting career at Honda. Entry Level Engineers rotate through three departments with a primary focus on projects related to manufacturing.

Upon completion of the program, the associate is placed permanently in a department to further develop their engineering skills, while implementing the skills acquired during each rotation.

Responsibilities:

  • Support equipment service associates with technical skills in troubleshooting equipment issues (electrical and mechanical)
  • Modify/improve equipment PLC programs to reduce downtime and recovery time
  • Manage projects pertaining to equipment to equipment ranging from new installation to modifications of existing assets
  • Support equipment activities needed during shutdowns (July and December)
  • Update electrical/mechanical drawings as needed for equipment modifications
  • Support investigation of equipment downtime to determine root cause and countermeasure activity needed
  • Support equipment run rate and efficiency tracking to determine path forward
  • Support data gathering and statistical analysis

Daily Tasks Performed:

Conduct problem solving data collection at the plant floor level requiring interaction with department associates and management

Project control and management including setting project targets, defining tasks and schedules, customer review meetings, and executing plans to achieve targets
